Enver Latifzade, a key volunteer and co-leader for QARAVAN, came to New York City in 2014 from Uzbekistan seeking asylum as a result of increased homophobia in his home country. He regularly speaks about LGBTQ+ rights at public forums and advocates for LGBTQ+ refugees from Central Asia and Middle East.
