Where to turn if you are in emotional crisis, and how to find a therapist without insurance or at a low cost. We also explain where to find support groups, help after torture or violence and help with alcohol or drugs, and how to look after yourself while you wait for an appointment.

If you are in danger, call 911. If you are in emotional crisis, call or text 988 (free, 24/7); on a call, say "Russian" and an interpreter will join.
Without insurance, NYC Care offers mental health care at City hospitals and clinics: fees by income and family size, from $0. You can find a therapist who speaks Russian on Psychology Today and Open Path Collective (the "Russian" filter).
